Hmm... I'm thinking a picture of him with his arms wrapped around the sword,
kinda, where he's propping his elbows up on it and looking right at you, with
the metal swirly part of the sword right against his head... there's probably a
special name for that... yeah. That's all I can think of. I do not think that
already exists. I don't watch the anime of X, but I am quite fond of the
manga... you having posted this 21 weeks ago. Oh well. I never get on this site
anyway. ^_^
I noticed that you have a few people posting things in spanish on your user
page, which made me happy because I could understand most of it (gracias,
espanol tres).
And that is all.
Good luck! I wish I had the skill (and time) to draw things from X!
as many others have said before, suicide is not the answer. i'm sure your
beloved mother would be very disappointed in you if you ran away from your
problems this way. (and i don't mean that in a cruel way...)
i suggest you stay at your Grandma's until things are better under control. but
you should also try to communicate with your stepmother, like bladerunner2005
said. he had some good advice.
and who knows... maybe when this whole ordeal is over, you can write an
autobiography.
X is definitely better... i've only read a little in each series, but the art of
X is so amazing, and the plot (when it speeds up) is very involving... i read
the 8th one, and now i need the 9th one
or i might die. ^_^ the characters are interesting and diverse also.
but xxxholic and Tsubasa have their merits.
yes... i searched on this topic, and i didn't find anything like it, so here
goes...
do you think Harry Potter has become too popular? if i were J. K. Rowling, i
wouldn't want the name of my characters to have little TM symbols after them or
to have that many products out... it's almost like the idea had become
mainstream and is no longer so pure... but i guess if i were as rich as J. K.
Rowling, i wouldn't care so much. ^_~
i also heard that the idea for Harry Potter was stolen from another book, in
which the main character is named 'Henry.' does anyone know anything about
this?
i have read the sixth book, but i will not spoil it for you. i will only say
that it was totally awesome and i have been inspired to write rapid fan fics
until the seventh one comes out. ^_^
oh man... books...
well, i guess you can say reading books inspired me to strive to become an
author and write stories of my own...
there's a few series of books that have just stayed with me through the years,
and kind of formed the basis for my childhood... y'know, pretending to have
dragons or be certain characters, that kinda thing. i would definitely not be
the same without those books. yesterday... i was at the library and i decided to
check out the very last Animorph book, which was a series i was obsessed with in
like... fourth grade... my friend and i used to pretend that we were Animorphs at recess....(there are 54
books, it's crazy; i made it to like.. book 30). and so, i read it... and man.
i still remember all the characters and it's been years... it made me want to
cry, the ending. but, stories are immortal; they will never die! ha!
Quote by Jnoodlesthe most recent book
ive read that sorta left some impact on me would
prolly be "the faded sun trilogy" by cherryh but im not really sure
what that impact was, or why...? just feels like it left something in
me...
agh! i tried reading a book by cherryh (the paladin), but when it got to the
part about when Shoka tries to get Taizu to sleep with him... agh. i couldn't
take anymore. and then he makes her promise to marry him if she survives the
revenge attempt... no. Taizu's too cool for that.
books really do leave something in you...
Quote by karubinThe catcher in the rye is
the only book that I feel like reading in the class. I end up buying the
book.
hehe. i read Brave New World for a summer reading assignment, and actually liked
it. that book changed the way i thought for a week.
the next Harry Potter comes out friday at midnight! yay!
New Zealand, aye?
well... in my isolated existence, i have only gone to Oregon and Washington
beaches. i might have been to the California beaches long ago... i remember
thinking it was funny that they were privately owned, because of course, in
Oregon, all beaches are public. my family always seems to go agate hunting on
some obscure beach that's well hidden.
i hope someday to travel much more... and see many more beaches! i
i've never really had that problem, but then again, there is only
one man in my house, and that is my father. i have two
sisters, and some housework is divided between us, but our house is never really
clean, especially not now, since our kitchen is being remodeled and everything's
crazy. i'm the oldest, so sometimes i end up doing more work, but sometimes the
younger two get more work as "punishment" because i'm "the good
child." (yeah... right...)they fight all the time... but i won't get into
that. my dad cooks a lot actually... but then again, we are an almost-hippie
American family who buys our bread at a store instead of baking it and has no
farm to tend. ^_^
i guess i live a charmed life compared to some of these sob stories. *points
up*
yes, i am excited! most of my family will be going to a midnight release party
at a bookstore next friday. yay!
harry was really angry in the last book.
^_^
we're thinking of taking turns reading it outloud, so we won't fight over who
gets to read it first... that was a problem last time.
it will be sad once the seventh book comes out... i mean... Star Wars is done...
Harry Potter is wrapping up... what will that leave us to wait for? (i know...
the next Tamora Pierce book!) i guess we could anxiously wait and see how badly
they mess up the movies to fill our time... ^_-
Sure you can. Depending on what it is, understanding it can make hating it even
easier.
It could be possible to end fighting amongst ourselves, but it would probably
take an external factor to make it happen.
i guess that's true... just because you know where your enemies are coming from
doesn't mean you think they're right. like ToxicTea23 said, Yin and Yang.
communism is a great concept, but in reality... never gonna happen. but if we
learn to understand differences, like studio said, maybe we will not turn to
violence all the time.
thank you all for commenting... never thought my topic would be so
popular...
Quote by EnchanterIf we had no war or
conflicts at all, how then can we know the meaning of
'peace'?
alrighty... dictionary.com defines peace as:
1. The absence of war or other hostilities.
2. An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities.
3. Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations: roommates
living in peace with each other.
4. Public security and order: was arrested for disturbing the peace.
5. Inner contentment; serenity: peace of mind.
if that helps you at all, CopyMaster.
will war ever end? or will humans continue to be in conflict forever? and if
there was to be peace on earth, what would be the requirements to make it
happen?
------------------------------
since those attacks on London happened recently, i thought this appropriate. i
think that war will only end if people unconditionally understand each other, because you can't hate something you
understand and accept. but is this realistic or is it actually going to happen?
probably not, but i'd like to think so, idealist that i am. ^_-
so... what is your opinion?
i think wars should be fought with honor, and not with all this terrorism and
bombs and secret nuclear weapons stuff. so if a war is to be fought, let it be
with swords, and fought fairly! HII yaaah!!!
*ahem* and also, in a swordfight, you usually duel one on one with your
opponent, and get to see them clearly, instead of aiming at an enemy you'll
never see... and therefore will never see their pain, which will lead to
understanding of what killing actually is, instead of destroying people through
bombs or land-mines or whatever. and if people understand what war actually does
to PEOPLE and not just "targets," then ... peace?
maybe? eh eh?
yeah... a week ago i was at a Thriftway with my friends, and i randomly did a
cartwheel down the frozen food aisle, and my shoe flew off and landed in between
the freezers... somehow, Thriftway got it out and returned it to me *bows to the
almighty Thriftway* yes... and that's my story AND I'M STICKIN' TO IT! *feeling
very hyper today* yeah.. i was just
wondering if you've ever done something so stupidly unique, that you know no one
else in the entire world has done the same thing, and it qualifies as something
"only you" could accomplish. please share with me your crazy
stories... ^_^
not often enough... i got 10 inches cut off a while ago... for Locks of Love...
and now i look like Fuu from Magic Knight Rayearth. Or Roxy Hart from the
musical Chicago. ^_-
i guess... some people just don't want to think too hard, so they reply only to
threads that require short sentence answers like "what's your favorite
color?" or whatnot. sometimes, i'll click on a post, and not know what to
reply to it, or whatever. i try not to worry too much about levels... and post
threads that hopefully people will be interested in and not worry too
much.
Quote by NakofanI don't really want to be
remembered. it's true i don't because when i
die the people who knew me will be sad, and when they remember the
wouldn't accept the fact of my death. I'm a person who wants everyone
to be happy and if they remember they will get sad.
i used to think that too... i was telling everyone that they should laugh at my
funeral, because i would want them to be happy after i'm gone. but... that
really isn't the best way, because it is really better for people to experience
loss and become stronger people from it, than to be denied that growth.
hopefully the people you know will eventually accept your death.... the sadness
of death isn't all 'sad'... it is a necessary and healing process. remembering
someone who is gone can also make you happy.
i would want to be remembered as someone who was never afraid to express her
inner voice, and was able to inspire others using that voice.
this is a funny thread. ^_^
i had a tabby stuffed animal named Oliver after the main character in my
favorite movie at the time-:Rock-a-Doodle. (i had to look the title up on Google to make sure
i was getting it right. the movie came out in 1992. how time flies...)
i had a calico cat named Lessa after a character in Anne McCaffrey's Dragons of Pern series, and a dog named Percy
after the dog in Pocahontas.
and some named "ordinary" names, like Fuzzy. i also thought up
different names for most of Beanie Babies, now lying in my closet.
wow. i haven't thought about this kind of thing in a while. ^_^
